Marketing Executive

Reports to: Marketing Manager 

Location: UK-based (remote), with occasional UK-wide travel  

Hours: Full time (40 hours per week) 

Contract: Permanent 

Salary: £33,000-£36,000 per annum (depending on experience). 

Purpose of the role 

We’re looking for a passionate and versatile Marketing Executive to work with us on the next stage of E-Spark’s growth. In this role, you will design and create content that tells the story of our programmes and impact to engage with and inspire our key audiences. 

You’ll lead the creation of compelling content across blogs, social media, newsletters, and our website, building brand visibility and engagement. By strategically leveraging social media, PR, events, partnerships, and emerging media, you’ll help us deliver on key projects and grow our brand in new sectors. 

From managing our digital presence and running targeted campaigns to optimising website performance and refining brand messaging, you will ensure consistent, creative, and data-driven execution across all touchpoints. You are an avid content creator with an ability to distil ideas down to their simplest form and communicate them with vibrancy across different channels. You’re always looking for a story, an angle, or that perfect picture or video that captures a moment in time. 

You understand the importance of self-awareness and emotional intelligence and you actively use this to get the best out of yourself, and to connect with others. You approach everything you do with a determination for growth and improvement and bringing innovative ideas to the table and team excites you. 

You are an energetic, open-minded, and self-starting individual who can work independently while staying aligned with broader team goals. The role will be hybrid, so you thrive working from home and enjoy the change of pace that in-person events provide (approx. 1 per month). You are a great communicator and can adapt your tone, message, and style dependant on the audience. 

 

Roles and Responsibilities 

Content Creation & Marketing 

  • Develop and execute a strategic content plan aligned with brand objectives. 

  • Create engaging, on-brand content across formats – primarily video, and additionally blogs, newsletters, website copy, visuals. 

  • Craft compelling marketing copy to advertise our services and thought leadership. 

  • Proofread, edit, and maintain high standards for clarity, accuracy, and brand consistency. 

Social Media Management 

  • Manage and grow our social media presence across relevant platforms. 

  • Plan and run creative, high-impact social media campaigns. 

  • Analyse performance data and optimise strategy based on insights. 

Brand & Communications 

  • Support development of communications strategies for product launches, events, partnerships, and updates. 

  • Coordinate internal and external messaging for key announcements and campaigns. 

  • Liaise with PR and media partners as needed. 

Website & Digital Presence 

  • Create, update, and manage content on our Squarespace website. 

  • Apply SEO and SEM best practices to drive traffic and visibility. 

  • Track website performance and engagement metrics. 

Project & Campaign Management 

  • Lead and manage marketing projects from idea to execution. 

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams and external partners. 

  • Maintain and organise digital marketing assets, media libraries, and documentation. 

 

Skills and Qualifications 

Required 

  • Proven experience in brand, marketing, or communications roles. 

  • B2B marketing experience. 

  • Experience managing social media channels and content calendars. 

  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills. 

  • Strong project management and organisational skills. 

  • Comfortable with design and management tools for social and web like Canva, Squarespace, Hootsuite. 

  • Comfortable with engagement tools like Mailchimp & Google Analytics. 

 Preferred 

  • PR experience a plus. 

  • Experience in a fast-paced or early-stage company. 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Design, English, Psychology, Communications, Journalism, or related field.

Location 

This is a remote role, where most days you will work from home, with occasional travel required. We have in-person events nationally which you would be expected to travel to, around once per month on average. We also hold in-person team meetings once per quarter which you would need to join. All travel and accommodation will be covered for the above events and meetings. 

The Package 

  • £75 monthly wellbeing allowance to spend on your physical, mental and emotional wellbeing.

  • Statutory pension scheme, mobile phone and laptop will be provided if required.

Applications close on 10th April. We will invite a maximum of 10 candidates through to our first stage technical interviews (30 minutes), and 5 of those through to a final interview of 1 hour. We expect all interviews to be concluded by 24th April and the successful candidate notified before 30th April.
