Our History

Entrepreneurial Spark led the growth of the accelerator industry in the UK, setting up the world’s largest free accelerator between 2012 and 2018 in partnership with Natwest Group.

At the time our vision was unique: rather than focussing on growing businesses, we believed that by focussing on developing an entrepreneurial mindset and behaviours of the people running the businesses, you can create more sustainable acceleration and growth.

We transferred that programme to Natwest in 2018 and are so happy that their impact continues to this day.

After that we spread our global wings to test our secret sauce in other places. We partnered with Ignite, a non-profit organisation in Bermuda, to launch the island’s first accelerator and our 20th globally. We developed our virtual model, working with teams in Scandinavia, Central America and Sub-Saharan Africa to support mindset shift and drive innovation.

At the start of 2021 we launched our latest mission – the UK Space Agency Space Accelerator in partnership with University of Strathclyde. This programme is entirely virtual, attracting participants from every corner of the UK and beyond. We have experimented with new delivery platforms to reach even more people and drive an inclusive economic recovery in the Space sector.

Altogether we have helped over 10,000 people across four continents to create new opportunities for themselves. Our methods are tested and honed through 40,000 deep interactions with entrepreneurs across nearly a decade – we know you like no-one else does.
