04 Jan Manchester’s Queek’d lands Nordic investment

Entrepreneur Elisa McLean who is currently based at Entrepreneurial Spark Powered by NatWest’s Manchester Hatchery has landed a £30,000 investment to further develop her business.

As reported in the Manchester Evening News (M.E.N) today the investment has come from Norwegian investor Ingvard Busengdal who wants to help Elisa grow her business.

Queek’d is a unique dating comparison platform specially aimed at single people looking for a long-term relationship.

After taking a short personality quiz Queek’d users are matched with a list of dating sites that are right for them and market leading businesses such as eHarmony and, as well as Elite Singles and Uniform Dating have already joined the platform.

Elisa told the M.E.N: “Being single myself I am now so passionate about helping other singles, which definitely came across when pitching to my investor.

“I was so pleased that Ingvard could see my vision and the investment will help us gain more users and allow us to plan for phase two which I’m really excited about.

“It will also help us develop the product further so we can reach even more users, and hopefully direct them to love and their future partners and soul mates.

“We’ll be running some exciting competitions right through to Valentine’s Day and already have a number of exclusive sponsors on “board, including The Alchemist, Epernay Manchester, Breakout Manchester and new restaurant, The Refinery.

“We can now prepare for crowdfunding to raise a large seed round. More innovation is planned for phase two launch in late 2017.”
