Entrepreneuring® Accelerators

We began our acceleration journey in January 2012 opening our first accelerator in Glasgow, Scotland. Our vision was unique – rather than focussing on growing businesses, we believed that by focussing on developing an entrepreneurial mindset and behaviours of the people running the businesses, you can create more effective acceleration and growth.

Over the course of the first 3 years we created a proprietary ‘entrepreneurial enablement’ approach that combines bespoke start up and growth coaching with a development programme that concentrates taking action as an entrepreneur rather than just learning about it – or as we call it entrepreneuring®. The impacts of this approach spoke for themselves and in 2014 we went into partnership with Royal Bank of Scotland to roll this methodology out to 12 locations across the UK.

Since then we have supported 3,868 start-ups, who, between them have:

  • Raised £651 million turnover
  • Raised £255 million in investment, and
  • Created an incredible 8,096 jobs.

All this is underpinned by an incredible 87% survival rate of those businesses.

During this time we also partnered with Viridian Group in India to open 2 physical accelerators and 2 virtual accelerators in India. We also successfully completed 2 pilot virtual projects in the Highlands and Island of Scotland and Portsmouth to further demonstrate that you don’t have to be in the same location as an entrepreneur to coach them to success.

Our unique approach coupled with this successful partnerships enabled us to grow to become the world’s largest free accelerator. Having successfully completed the roll out of our accelerator model across the UK we are delighted to transfer the network across to the Royal Bank of Scotland to be run in-house from 1st March 2018.

From 1st March 2018 Entrepreneurial Spark will be supporting organisations across the globe to create and build their own acceleration programmes by applying this unique mindset methodology to truly continue to lead the mindset revolution.
